I think the chair is a good value for what it is, but really is meant as a more upright task chair and unfortunately didn't serve my purpose.I bough this for using at my computer, where I lean back significantly and rest my elbows on my desk with hands on keyboard. The limited recline position of this chair prevents me from assuming this position well.I think it would probably work better for someone who uses a better posture when at their computer than mine. It would likely serve me well for doing other tasks at a desk where I am not leaned back, such as writing or manipulating objects in some fashion for work. Anything where you sit up straight or sit forward on the chair would probably work.I am very pleased with the HON Task Chair. It was more money than I wanted to spend but the money was well spent. I looked at desk chairs on several online sites as well as visited several stores. I found the inventory in many stores was limited requiring me to order a chair I was unable to try first. I was replacing a chair that was a gift from my spouse. I used it for many years and never was comfortable but didn't want to hurt his feelings. I finally decided to splurge and buy myself a new one. I am 5'1" and find this chair very comfortable. I was concerned because my other chair was designed for a taller person. In order to help other shoppers I will mention I have longer legs than many 5' people. I bought the leather seat because of the comments about the fabric being scratchy and found the leather was a little stiff at first. The seat has become more comfortable as it's been broken in. I would've liked arm rests but didn't want to spend the extra money. I knew if I decided I want them I can order them in the future. I would recommend this chair.I’m pleased with the build quality on this — it feels solid, sturdy, and the mesh is really tightly woven. It reclines smoothly, seat raises up and down smoothly and has a solid range of height.However, it needs to be noted that there is absolutely zero lumbar support. None. You absolutely will need a pillow or cushion to use this chair without lower back pain and poor posture.For the price I still think this is a very solid chair, but it is literally impossible to sit on — or worse, lean back in — without lower back discomfort.This chair + a small pillow is great, but it still boggles the mind a bit that anyone could release such an uncomfortable chair on its own.Nice chair for the price. Good quality, sturdy, comfortable. It does not have true lumbar support but the mesh back is comfortable and provides adequate support. The seat color is a nice deep red. I also purchased the arms which are adjustable, but a bit short in depth. If I wear anything with flowy sleeves they get caught in the back, but the shorter arms allow me to have the arms even with my desk and still pull up close.I think HON needs to do something about the packaging. Others have mentioned this here, but the chair and all it's parts were packed in a box that was a tad too small. The top of the box had popped open, and the spoke base was poking out the other end.I’ve been sitting on this chair for weeks, and it really hasn’t let me down. Even after a long day of work together it has been very supportive. Of course, there have been the occasional ups and downs. Yet throughout several projects together, chair has shown great flexibility and adjustability to adapt to the work environment. And when the heat was turned up on my flagship project, it totally had my back. No matter which way I turn, or which direction a project rolls us around, I know that chair will be right there behind me. Chair has really held up to its reputation, and the more time we work together, the more I feel in tune with one another. I think the success of our relationship is partially due to the aesthetic attraction, but mainly due to the comfort of having a reliable partner that you enjoy spending time with.I like this chair, as it is comfortable and fits my 4'11" frame. The hardest part in assembling the chair was putting the wheels into their slots. It required a hammer and considerable force.As for the packaging: Part of the base had punctured through the box, but I could find no damage. However, upon opening,I found the handle to the lift mechanism broken and loose in the box. Whether that was due to shoddy packaging or was sent that way, I don't know. This hasn't affected the functioning of the chair, so I will keep.One star off for poor packaging.I bought this is as a christmas gift for my boyfriend since he would need an office chair for school. I was very hesitant to buy this since I couldn't sit in it, but decided to risk it, since it was on sale and the reviews were great. I am so glad I did. He is 6ft 6 in tall and needs more room than the average person. There is plenty of room in this chair. He needed a chair to help with his back, since after sitting in a chair for a more than a few hours can cause back pain for him. He has sat in this chair for hours and no back pain and he absolutely loves it. I love it too because it is so comfortable, and it looks very stylish.had the chair for almost 2 months then the chair started sinking downward. had to call the manufacturer and will file a claim. im disappointed...good thing I kept my old chair and its past the return date now.the chair came assembled and in a HON boxArrived quickly, easy to assemble. The seat was a bit hard for me but easily fixed with a folder blanket.Very comfortable and aesthetically very nice. The set-up was pretty easy. I think it took me about 15 minutes.Works as well as can be expected.Good delivery time, I don't believe it was in stock at the time of placing the order. I am extremely happy with the chair...coudn't be happier.Recommend highly.
