We bought this to make a transition for a chair to roll from carpet to floor and it was catching the wheels when you would go from the floor to the carpet so we thought if we put this on top of the floor and the carpet it would make a level surface. The mistake is that the surface of the mat is level but the floor and the carpet aren't so there's still a bump that catches the wheels. When I've been doing is when I get boxes packages from Amazon I open the box and I flatten it and I am putting them under the mat on the floor side to catch it up to the carpet. Only did that and now the carpet side is lower anyway just to let you know put it on the floor put it on a carpet it's great I like the one shape it doesn't need a smaller space for the under the desk it's a perfect piece of plastic for what it's supposed to do I just have to have a level surface for it to be efficient.Wish that the product was shipped flat not rolled. Staples does it!Instructions said to run hot water on it to flatten it.No thanks, not at four by three ft.It works greatI know they give you the actual measurements of this mat, but you'd think it would be wide enough for most chairs. If your chair is bigger than the smaller, cheap-o office chairs, the legs of your chair are probably going to be on the very edge of this thing. Its shortest side could use a couple more inches to fit more office chairs better. It also seems a bit flimsy, but it's kind of hard to tell when the legs of the chair reach almost all the way across the mat, with maybe an inch to spare on either side.this mat worksThe concept of the mat is perfect however it is very thin and you sink into the carpet still.After 2 months of using it this mat has dents now because of the chair. Not sure if that is how it is suppose to be.I have a great idea! Let's roll this mat up and deliver it...then it is IMPOSSIBLE to unroll without causing injury to your hands from the spikes underneath. A few choice words left my mouth...although a great value, I should have gone to Office Max to get one that was flat. I don't see this ever laying flat. I appreciate the spike imprints on my hand. At least this thing is obviously durable.This mat comes rolled and needs to be heated to unroll it! I used a hairdryer and it worked fine! Unrolled quickly and so I just weighted it down initially to make sure it didn’t roll up on the edges.It’s good on the carpet and protects it from getting damaged when using an office chair everyday!This item came in roll. Material is so hard to open it and make it straight also spike is so sharp like nail it may damage carpet too. I tried to return it but I get only one option is Hermes pick up and I have to have printer to print return label also there is charge. Tried to contact customer service but when ever I called it goes to call centre in India and customer service did not resolved my problem.Disliked unpacking these. Felt like I was being ripped to shreds! Advice to new purchasers.. put it straight into a hot shower. Flatten onto a towel. Weigh down. Once flat they stay flat, and stay still on short piled carpets.This is not worth £5, let alone £30! Very poor quality item. Arrived rolled up and very hard to unroll. When finally in place it lifts all over the place and doesn't sit flush to the floor. A piece of cardboard would do a better job than this pile of junk.Had this one after first one started to move about So far this one is stationary and very pleased
