The Steelcase Series 1 chair has a LiveBack flexor system in the backrest which conforms to your body and moves with you to support the spine as you change postures. The tilt mechanism is synchronized; the seat and back work in harmony with each other, keeping the body securely supported in the chair and feet firmly planted on the floor so you can recline without leaving your optimal zone for seeing and reaching your work. This model includes an adjustable seat depth, fully adjustable arms (raise up and down, pivot in and out, shift forward and back and side to side), adjustable lumbar, pneumatic seat height adjustment, recline tension adjustment (weight activated with adjustment and lock), flexing back with mesh upholstery, upholstered seat and wheels for hard flooring. The seat features strong yet pliable foam which conforms to the body and creates pressure-free comfort. Flexible seat edge offers a bit of bend, right where you need it – relieving pressure points under your thighs. This chair will arrive unassembled and require some assembly; covered by Steelcase warranty.

There is beauty in the simplicity of this chair. Sure, you don't have a million dials and switches on the base for fine tuning, but it hits all the basics and while I initially was taken back by the fact that it only has 3 settings for the backrest support (rigid, firm and soft), I have found that's all that I really need. I should note that mine arrived with more of the assembly done than the Steelcase videos even indicated. For instance, the armrests were already installed and I didn't have to attach the back to the base. Made me wonder if mine was a return, demo or something like that but it appears to be in like new condition. Anyway, I had it all together and adjusted to my liking in all of 5 min. which is great!I feel like this chair corrects a lot of my bad habits w/out being a nag about it. I find myself sitting with improved posture and with proper support at the three key touch points- Arms, back, butt. I would say that if there is a weak link among those three, it'd maybe be at the arms as they sort of vaguely move around laterally sometimes and I find myself sort of resetting them every so often to where I think they should be for me. They also are fairly thin and lightweight so I have some concern about durability but only time will tell there.Steelcase claims the chair can support up to 400lbs, which to me, indicates that it should hold up under the kind heavy daily use that I bought it for as an intensive home office user. Some complaints in reviews I read ahead of purchase were related to the seat cushion being too hard. I would tend to disagree there as I think it strikes a perfect balance of comfort/supportiveness. As with a bed mattress, softer isn't always better in my experience. As for the rest, it feels like an upscale economy chair rather than anything more luxurious with lots of plastic but it's all well-done. I guess for the price paid, that's fair and my wife indicated that she prefers this to any other desk chair that I've brought home thus far. I'd say that's high praise.I think that unless you are willing to go closer to a grand or more, this is a great option- Particularly if you are under 6' tall. If you are larger, you will likely want to add the optional headrest for additional support as the chair back covers me at 5'10" just barely. Otherwise, maybe steer clear of this one, but for the average size adult, it really shines. It's really incredible how the second you turn 30, your body immediately starts to fall apart. Gone are the days of stuffing my feet into any-old shoes, using whatever pillow was around, and sitting in what BS computer chair my dirt-poor ass could afford. My body pays dividends for living while cheap, and now I have to shell out some money for the things I use every day.But I'm still poor, so y'know, like, within reason...Which led me to this chair. Is is pretty? No. Is it the best out there? Also no, because the best one is literally $1300. This guy looks like the corporate-flavored death of childhood dreams, but I weighed the reviews against the cost on several other chairs, and I settled on this one.I wasn't thrilled with it once I built and sat in it. I just ate $400, I wanted to be impressed or something, but I wasn't. It was just a chair. (And the armrest articulations are pretty baffling tbh, but admittedly fun to idly screw around with.) I immediately stopped registering it's presence under me entirely after a few minutes.BUT THAT'S THE THING. I didn't think about the chair! Because I didn't have to! It wasn't hurting me. No bolts digging into my butt, no growing back pain, no fighting with nitpicky settings. I can sit in this thing for hours and hours and never once think about it. It's GREAT. I don't need a chair to bleep my bleep, I just need it to be a chair and not ruin my body. Which this thing does! Very well! This chair chairs way better than any of my chairs chaired before. Worth it.I have NEVER had a chair where all I had to attach were 4 items. Normally there are a plethora of parts and screws. In addition, it has all the bells and whistles to help customize the seat, height, arms to your specific fit! Truly happy with my purchase!!!!The thing I care about is comfort. There is really only one serious question for an office chair: can I sit in this thing all day and still be comfortable? For me, the answer for this chair is: yes.Does anyone really care about crap like assembly. Whether it takes 2 hours or 2 minutes to set up I'm probably going to be sitting in the thing for 2 years. Set up is just a fraction of the time spent in it. But yes. Super duper easy to set up too. No tools: NONE. Gets no better than that for my blood pressure.I'm 6ft, 210 lbs, muscular, and I like long walks on the beach and this chair rocks. It is so comfortable, adjustable height and helps me want to maintain proper posture. Just coming off two spine surgeries so I needed something comfortable, sturdy and ergonomically adjustable. This did the trick.I ordered the assembly service (because of the surgery). The gentleman arrived on time and removed the parts from the packaging. It was two parts. He set the seated part on the legs and it was ready to go. 5 minutes max. We had a good laugh about it. So unless you're recovering from surgery or not able to lift about 25/30 lbs, the assembly couldn't have been easier. I've had it a few weeks now and it is fantastic.Easy to assemble.Comfortable.My mom needed a work chair. She has rheumatoid arthritis so it can be challenging to find the right chair.she loves this chair so far. The purple is cute too. This is a fabulously well engineering desk chair. Compact but very comfortable and easily adjustable. Terrific to have adjustable arm rests. Put it together in less than 2 minutes with no tools.Love this chair, will probably get a second for my other room. Assembly literally took about 20-30 seconds.I got the version of this chair (purple) that was much cheaper than other colors and it looks great and is extremely comfortable. My back pain is almost all gone after using this chair for only a couple of weeks. I’m actually buying another one I like it so much. I’m a bigger guy and I feel like I have a decent amount of room even though the chair is fairly compact. Arm rests pop out nicely and are very adjustable and are made from durable but soft material. Do yourself a favor and get this chair. Due to the long work hours at home, I decided to buy this chair after comparing it with Secret Lab Titan and Autonomous ErgoChair 2. I chose this at the end because of the brand (knowing it is one of the few established brands) and how easy it is to assemble. As well, I didn't care for the fancy features like the extra adjustment knobs.I have had this chair for 3 months now, the chair built quality is very decent. Although it makes some squeaky noise once in a while, it does offer a very comfortable seating experience. However, I don't think this is worth the price. The armrests can also be in the way sometimes as the "4D" plate does not lock in place. Compared to my friends' Autonomous ErgoChair 2, this chair offers minimal lumbar support. I've also heard many positive reviews about the titan chair as well. All in all, I agree with many other reviews, this is a comfortable chair but not worth its price.I did a lot of research before investing in this chair. SteelSeries consistently showed at the top of every office chair list. I was very hesitant to drop so much down on just a chair; if it hadn't been for the top-of-the-line reviews, I never would have considered it.I have a number of disorders that leave me in constant chronic pain. Accepting my current work-from-home position at my job made me very nervous about pain management throughout an 8-hour workday. It has been about 6 months now and I am absolutely thrilled that I took the plunge. This is the first chair in my entire life that does not pile on to the pain that I'm already in. And it's purple!!Exactamente lo que esperaba por una silla de 500 USD. Duradera, cómoda y práctica. Excelente opción para Homeoffice. Vale la pena invertir un poco en algo que vas a usar 10+ horas al día
